Two New Yorkers and a Wellingtonian walk into a bar . . . it sounds like the start of a bad joke but the founders of Broken Shed Vodka hope it will be anything but....
"Three founders (Mark O'Brien, Steve Turner & Mark Simmonds) started making vodka in an old shed in Wanaka. We still use the Shed for events and offices, but have moved production to a facility in Cromwell (Central Otago). We tested over ten different waters from all over NZ and also tested four different origins of spirit. We also refined a number of processing and filtering techniques to make the vodka very smooth, yet without the traditional additives that most vodkas have to add to mask their harshness. Broken Shed Vodka does not have any sugars, softeners or other additives. Our naturally smooth taste is created through the purity of our ingredients and our blending processes. While many other vodkas include additives to change the taste and mask the harshness of their vodka, we have successfully crafted Broken Shed Vodka to be free of additives." - Broken Shed
